2014 marks the fifth year of The Hotel at Auburn University’s Oktoberfest. For the first three years, the event was held in the intimate setting of our Terrace Room and around our pool, allowing for about 150 attendees. Last year we expanded the event to its current location in our north parking lot. This allowed us to grow attendance by 300 percent in one year. We are expecting an attendance of 1,000 craft beer enthusiasts to attend this year’s Oktoberfest.
Each local, regional and national brewery in attendance will showcase a small selection of beers, giving attendees an opportunity to sample a variety of great brews. Select breweries will also present one-off beers, which are brewed specifically to be served at Oktoberfest.

New to 2014, Oktoberfest will feature “Homebrew Alley,” where home brewers are given the opportunity to showcase their craft to the festival goers. OFficial BJCP judges will judge each home brewers’ samples, and they will select one winner. The homebrew master winner and head brewer of Blue Pants Brewery will get to spend time brewing their recipe as a one-off beer in the Blue Pants facility. Once it’s produced, The Hotel at Auburn University will feature the winning beer selection on draft for a limited time.
There will also be a crowd favorite that is voted on throughout the festival and winner will be announced at the same time as the homebrew master.

FAQ for Home Brewers:
How many beers can I enter?
You may enter up to four types of beer however you must produce a minimum of 5 gallons per beer entered if selected.
What will be provided?
We will provide the tent, tables, large cooler, ice and a banner with your information printed. You will be responsible for all supplies if pouring draft beer beyond what is listed above.
How much is it to enter?
The hombrewers selcted on September 5th will then go online to pay the $50 entry fee. There is no fee to submit samples. The $50 will cover all of the items listed above and will also include admittance into the event for you and one guest. There are no fees for sampling addittional beers.
How will it be judged?
There will be one overall winner and will not be judged by style. We do ask for the style of the beer on the entry form to ensure the beer meets the standards of the BJCP.
Where can I drop my samples?
Beer Samples can be dropped off or mailed to Adam Keeshan at The Hotel at Auburn University, 241. S College Street, Auburn, AL 36830. Deadline for samples to be submitted is September 5, 2014. All samples should contain a label with the brewers name, contact information and style of beer.

Food and non-alcoholic drink tokens can be purchased at the event. Food tokens are $5 and non-alcoholic drink tokens are $2.

I am not from the Auburn area, is there a place for me to stay?
The Hotel at Auburn University is offering a special Oktoberfest Package which includes tickets to the event, food tickets to use at the event, Oktoberfest T-Shirts, a Saturday night stay and breakfast for two on Sunday morning. Book your Package!
Will food be available at the event?
Yes. The Hotel at Auburn University will have 2 food tents which will offer a selection of German Oktoberfest staples. Food tickets will be available at the event for $5.
Are pets allowed?
The Hotel at Auburn University is a pet-friendly hotel however we ask that guests do not bring their pets due to the large volume of people attending the event.
How much will tickets be at the event?
General admission tickets will be available for $45 at the event. Food tickets can also be purchased for $5. Pre-Sale tickets are available online for $35.
