Ariccia is an ancient town in the “Castelli Romani” region of Italy about 17 miles southeast of Rome. It is home to the famous Palazzo Chigi, which was reconstructed in the late 17th century by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, an acclaimed Italian architect, sculptor and painter. The nearby “Castel Gandolfo” has been the Pope’s summer residence since the 12th century. The international campus of Auburn University, College of Human Sciences, is located in Ariccia, Italy, and is the inspiration for the restaurant's name.

In 2012, Ariccia Italian Trattoria & Bar underwent a beautification to give our Italian restaurant a cozier and more intimate feel. Ariccia now features hardwood flooring, lime washed walls, and new banquet and booth seating options.  Enoteca, the private dining room in Ariccia, now contains temperature-controlled wine storage as the focal point in the room. The patio also underwent a stunning transformation.  Guests will feel like they are dining in a “secret garden” due to the 8-foot high hedges surrounding the space.  A fountain was added to the middle of the patio, and the new pergola provides overhead lighting, fans and shade, allowing guests the opportunity to dine outside year-round.
